چکیده

In this paper, a software package for multipleor single-point source inversion is presented. The package consists of ISOLA-GUI, a user-friendly MATLAB-based interface, and the ISOLA Fortran code, which is the computational core of the application. The methodology used is similar to iterative deconvolution technique, often used in teleseismic studies, but here adjusted for regional and local distances. The advantage of the software is the graphical interface that provides the user with an easy to use environment, rich in graphics and data handling routines, while at the same time the speed of Fortran code is retained. Besides that, the software allows the results to be exported to popular software packages, like Generic Mapping Tools, while at the same time utilizing them for quality plots of the results. The modular design of ISOLA-GUI can be used by users for the addition of supplementary routines in all the stages of processing. An example of the method’s ability to obtain a quick insight into the complexity of an earthquake is presented, using records from a moderate size event. r 2008 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

MT2DInvMatlab - A program in MATLAB and FORTRAN for two-dimensional magnetotelluric inversion

MT2DInvMatlab is an open-source MATLAB software package for two-dimensional (2D) inversion of magnetotelluric (MT) data; it is written in mixed languages of MATLAB and FORTRAN. MT2DInvMatlab uses the finite element method (FEM) to compute 2D MTmodel responses, and smoothness-constrained least-squares inversion with a spatially variable regularization parameter algorithm to stabilize the inversi...

An Improved Method for Seismic Site Characterization with Emphasis on Liquefaction Phenomenon

Iran is an active seismic region. Earthquake damage is commonly controlled by three interacting factors including source and path characteristics, local geological and geotechnical conditions and type of the structures. Obviously, all of this would require analysis and presentation of a large amount of geological, seismological and geotechnical data. In this paper, nonlinear geotechnical seismi...

Joint Bayesian Stochastic Inversion of Well Logs and Seismic Data for Volumetric Uncertainty Analysis

Here in, an application of a new seismic inversion algorithm in one of Iran’s oilfields is described. Stochastic (geostatistical) seismic inversion, as a complementary method to deterministic inversion, is perceived as contribution combination of geostatistics and seismic inversion algorithm. This method integrates information from different data sources with different scales, as prior informat...

Crazyseismic: A MATLAB GUI-Based Software Package for Passive Seismic Data Preprocessing

We introduce an open-source MATLAB software package, named Crazyseismic, for passive seismic data preprocessing. Built-in core functions such as seismic phase travel-time calculation and multichannel cross correlation significantly improve the efficiency of data processing. Compared with conventional command-line-style toolboxes, all functions in Crazyseismic are embedded in one single graphic ...

Comparing Geostatistical Seismic Inversion Based on Spectral Simulation with Deterministic Inversion: A Case Study

Seismic inversion is a method that extracts acoustic impedance data from the seismic traces. Source wavelets are band-limited, and thus seismic traces do not contain low and high frequency information. Therefore, there is a serious problem when the deterministic seismic inversion is applied to real data and the result of deterministic inversion is smooth. Low frequency component is obtained fro...
